The explanation that seems most sensible to most A.A. members is that alcoholism is a disease, a progressive disease that cannot be cured but, like many other diseases, can be contained.

Only you can make the decision to try A.A. if you feel the program can help you.

We A.A. members came to the program because we finally recognized that we could not control our drinking.

We A.A.'s are men and women who have come to understand and admit that we cannot control alcohol. We have come to realize that we must live without drink if we are to avoid disaster for ourselves and the people closest to us.

A.A. members share their experience with anyone seeking help for their drinking problem; they give person-to-person service or “sponsor” the alcoholic who comes to A.A. from any source.

Each one of us has an experience to share, in this section we will do it in the best style as a colleague said “We are making history”.
